INTENSIVE AUDITION MONOLOGUE WORKSHOPS SUMMER 2011****
WORKSHOP : JULY 11-15 MONDAY-FRIDAY 11AM-2PM
WHAT: A five day fifteen-hour audition monologue workshop for high school students who will be auditioning for college theatre arts programs, and for those who simply wish to improve their audition skills. Students will work on two monologues, contemporary and/or classical. Hopefully I will be able to meet with or speak to each student well before the intensive begins, so that I can make suggestions for monologues based on what I think may work for each individual. That way, the students can start the week with two ‘memorized’ monologues. I will have a library of monologues from which to choose.Working together, we will find the right monologues for you.
During each session, after a vocal and physical warm-up, and some group exercises, we will discuss, dissect and discover the monologues as we work on objectives and beats, physicality and voice. And at the end of the workshop, off you’ll go with two polished pieces that show your range, your guts and your smarts!
